Portsmouth East Keeps the Band and Director

As of today (Thursday, 18 May 2000), it is definite that Portsmouth East will maintain its instrumental music program, including the marching band; and will keep its Director of Bands, Eric W. Hambrick. This is a sigh of relief for many, and all are grateful that this program will exist in Portsmouth East's final school year with the Portsmouth City Schools (if the district secedes successfully) or as a separate school (if forced to consolidate with Portsmouth High School).

Prepare for another great year of music from the Portsmouth East Marching Band. Support the band in any way that you can; all help will be appreciated!
