July 14, 2000 Eric Hambrick Has Left Portsmouth East First of all, all apologies for not updating the website in so long. Events have continuously refused me the time to maintain the current news of the band - and what a bad time to not update the site! It was announced in the early Summer of 2000 that Eric W. Hambrick, Director of Bands at Portsmouth East since 1997, accepted the directorship of Rock Hill High School (Ironton, Ohio) due to poor job security at Portsmouth East. As of now, two weeks before the scheduled start of the marching band's music camp, a new band director has not been announced. We here at the website have not heard differently, so it is assumed that the music camp is still on. Once a band director is hired, the website will report ASAP. We would like to wish Eric Hambrick good luck at his new post. Rock Hill is definitely gaining a talented director. |
