Great Start for 2000 Competition Season

On Saturday, September 16, the Portsmouth East Marching Band competed in its first competition of the 2000 season. Living up to their tradition of excellence in performance, the band performed beautifully, and was rewarded accordingly.

Amidst very difficult judging (difficult on EVERY band, not just Portsmouth East), the band was the first band to perform on the day, competing in Class C. The band won first place in Class C, as well as many other awards. The band was also First Runner-Up to Grand Champion (Class B-C), proving themselves early once again.

Congratulations to Bloom-Carroll Marching Band on their Grand Champion (Class B-C) victory with their amazing "Songs from Mother Russia" field show.

The local area was well represented by not only Portsmouth East, but Rock Hill as well. Rock Hill was 2nd Runner-Up to Grand Champion (Class B-C) and 2nd place in Class B. Congratulations!

We would also like to congratulate the winner of Lancaster's second portion of competition, the Beavercreek Marching Band, who took Grand Champion in A-AA.
