Rock Hill Competition this Saturday

This Saturday, September 23rd, the Portsmouth East Marching Band will be competing in its second contest of the 2000 season at Rock Hill High School's competition. The band will be performing at 12:00 PM. Note that we had previously reported the performance time as 5:00 PM, and we apologize for any inconvenience that misreporting may have caused.

The band, which is performing in Class C, will compete locally for the first time this year, so many people are looking forward to seeing the show. The band is also looking forward to viewing and supporting all of their fellow local bands.

Recent Graduates Return from Boot Camp

Mark Jenkins and Joe Gregory, 2000 graduates of Portsmouth East and former members of the marching band, will be returning to the area for a short period upon their graduation from the United States Marine Corps boot camp. We would like to take this time to congratulate them on their success.
