Band Camp Begins

The East Marching Band begins their 2001 Band Camp on Monday, July 30th. Unlike previous years, the hours for practice on Monday-Wednesday will be 8:00AM-3:30PM, with a short break for lunch during this time span. On Thursday and Friday, the hours will be the traditional 8:00AM-12:00PM and then 4:00PM-8:00PM. This is due to Scott Brehm's college schedule, and can not be avoided.

 Fantasia 2000

If it wasn't already common knowledge, the East Band will be performing arrangements of selections from Walt Disney's Fantasia 2000. Returning to the classical genre, the band will be performing selections from Ludwig Van Beethoven's "5th Symphony", "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", and Igor Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite". The pieces are extremely dynamic and musically intricate, and promises to be not only a continuation of the East Band's legacy, but the start of new traditions for a new school and a new director.

Good Luck East!
