22 September 2001 East Awarded Grand Champion at Canal Winchester On Saturday, September 22, 2001, the East Marching Band received its second Grand Champion award of 2001 at Canal Winchester's 14th Annual Marching Band Festival. The band also won overall awards for Best Percussion, Best Auxiliary, Best Music, and Best Marching, constituting a full sweep of awards in the first half of competition (Classes C-B) Here is a breakdown of all awards in the Class C-B competition: Class C: 2nd Place, West Jefferson; 1st Place, East Class B: 3rd Place, Madison Plains; 2nd Place, Claymont; 1st Place, Bloom Carroll Overall C-B: Best Percussion, East; Best Auxiliary, East; Best Marching, East, Best Music, East; Class C-B Grand Champion, East Although the East Marching Band was not part of the A-AA festivities, it is certainly relevant to list and congratulate the winners from that portion of the competition.
