East Awarded 3rd Place Band at West

In tight competition, the East Tartan Regiment received Third Place honors in Class B percussion, auxiliary, and band. In addition, the band was fourth overall. Taking their fourth consecutive (and fourth ever) Grand Champion award, Green completes their 2002 season undefeated: a remarkable achievement. Green also took First Place Percussion (Class B and Overall), and Second Place Auxiliary (Class B). Taking Second Place in Band and Percussion (Class B, and Overall Percussion), Northwest surprised all, achieving a superior rating on top of everything else. Finally, Dawson-Bryant once again amazes all, placing Third Overall.

In other words, Portsmouth West's contest was a real success for all. For once, a local contest wasn't predicted before any of the bands performed, and that's the way it should be. Congratulations to all for showing what the local bands can really do!
